General FAQ

ReptiVerse is a new, growing, online platform for the sale and purchase of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and supplies. Our goal is to advance the herpteculture hobby by bringing quality animal providers and keepers together for the ethical, safe, responsible commerce of animals and supplies.

We require all users to be 18 years of age or older.

Non-Venomous reptiles, amphibians, invertabrates are shipped FedEx Priority Overnight in most cases. 

Venomous reptiles must be shipped via Delta Cargo airport to airport. 

Both Venomous and non-venomous animals can also be shipped through a third-party animal transport service.

Venomous Verification is a prescreening for buyers who are looking to buy venomous animals, to make the transaction with the seller more seamless.

You can apply for Venomous Verification Here. You must first fill out the form, then our team will review your submission. If the venomous verification is approved you will be notified. Your name and info will be compiled into a Venomous Verification Profile which is only accessible to sellers to help with their vetting process.

Buyer FAQ

You can search for a animal by browsing our categories section or searching for the animal you’re looking for with our search bar. 

If you would like to leave a review for a seller you have recently worked with, head to the sellers store and at the bottom you will see a star rating and area you can leave a comment with your review! 

Once you find an animal you are wanting to purchase, on the listing click “Message Store Owner” and it will prompt you with an email form. Be sure to reference the animal you are interested in to ensure you are getting accurate information. Including a link to the listing to the seller would be the best way to reference the listing! 

If you have a problem with a seller, you should first reach out to the seller to allow the seller the opportunity to resolve any issue. In extreme cases you can reach out to us and ReptiVerse will act as a mediator. 

If you are having an issue with a seller. You should first reach out to the seller to try and resolve the issue between the two of you. If you can not come to an agreement you can leave a review of your experience on the sellers store page. In extreme cases you can reach out to ReptiVerse via our contact form and we will do our best to mediate the situation. 

Each seller has their own unique Store Policies. We ask that Sellers to make store policies available to buyers. If the seller does not have a website or you don’t see their store policy on their website, please reach out to seller and ask for their policy or if they prefer using ReptiVerse’s Default Store Policy.

You should inquire when you find an animal you are interested in purchasing.

Please refrain from messaging our sellers if you are not planning to follow through with the purchase or any “time wasting” type message.

Seller FAQ

Promotional Ads include our Featured, Top and Bump ads. Each is designed to help boost your ads in the listings for more visibility. To enable a Promotional Ad on a listing visit My Account > My Listings  find the listing you want to promote and click the promote button on that listing. 

Featured Ads are promotional ads that move your ad to the top of the listing and flag it with a featured tag to be more attention grabbing as well as better placement for buyer visibility. Featured Ads also are featured on our home page. 

A Top Ad, moves your ad to the top of the listing page and is flagged with a top tag for better visibility for the buyer. 

We currently allow 3 top ads per page that are selected on a rotating random basis each time the page is loaded. 

A Bump Ad, bumps up your ad listing a little further on the list. It may not bump it all the way to the top buy it will increase your ads ranking on the page. We suggest using bump ads after your listing is posted and further down the list to bump it back up to better get in front of buyers.

Yes! If you would like to promote your ad, post your ad as normal, go to My Account > My listings, find the listing you would like to promote and select the “Promote” button. This will prompt you with available promotional ads, pricing and an option to select and buy what ever promotion you would like to use.

Yes! If you would like to promote your ad and have ran out of included promotions, post your ad as normal, go to My Account > My listings, find the listing you would like to promote and select the “Promote” button. This will prompt you with available promotional ads, pricing and an option to select and buy what ever promotion you would like to use.

Yes! We currently offer a cloud based bulk upload system. If you already have your seller account setup, please reach out to us via email and we will get your bulk uploader online and details sent over to you. 

We currently do not have our ads set to expire. If you sell an animal you have listed, please delete that add in your My Account>My Listings section or if you are using our bulk uploader, simply delete the row that listing is on and it will reflect on your store once updated. 

We have monthly and annual membership options, however significant discounts are applied for annual memberships.

Yes! By maintaining your membership even when you don’t have active ads, you will remain in the seller directory, as well as keep your brand relevant on our network of sellers and buyers. 

A Verified Seller is an option available in our Pro Seller Membership. Verified Seller ads a verified checkmark next to your name on your store page as well as in your ad listings to give sellers more trust and credibility from the buyers.

Venomous verification is a verification that the buyer has submitted to us basic information to be prescreened as a legal, responsible venomous keeper. 

We collect from the buyer: 
-Full Legal name
-A copy of the buyers photo ID
-A copy of any permits required to own and keep venomous if applicable
-We cross check the buyers location with their state laws. 
-We ask if they have appropriate emergency procedures and bite protocols in place. 
-We ask for details of their experience including the name(s) of any mentors they learned from, species they keep, species they have worked with. 

We compile all the information into a Venomous Verification Profile for approved users that can only be seen by Sellers. If you receive an inquiry from a user, simply go to 

reptiversemarket.com/venomous-verification/username  
If they have Venomous Verification their page will pop up detailing all information for the seller to review in making a decision if the buyer is legal and experienced for the animal they are inquiring about.
