Pearl II #8 Hatched February 8, 2024, weighing 25.6 grams and now weighs 74.6 grams. This is a beautiful perfectly marked Hybrid/Mix (SPp/SPb) Leopard Tortoise baby, just beginning to lighten up with growth. I believe the mixing of both the SPp and SPb gives you the best of both sub-species. They are not as large as the Giant South African, yet friendly, grass eating and more outgoing than the Babcocki. All my hatchlings are raised in a closed chamber enclosure with a minimum of 80% humidity and a minimum temperature of 80℉ on the cool side of the enclosure. The babies have been eating Organic Green Leaf, Red Leaf, Kale, Spring Mix and Escarole/Endive that can be purchased at any grocery store, as well as what I grow in my yard. All hatchlings are soaked daily for 30 minutes. These measures provide the best environment to ensure smooth shell growth & optimal organ development.
